Mike Maroth tossed a shutout at Abner Field as the Auburn Doubledays beat the
Cincinnati Joes by the count of 1 to 0.
Maroth(3-3) had a solid outing for Auburn. He went 9 innings surrendering 9
hits and 1 walk improving his ERA from 3.40 to 2.86. The Cincinnati offense
proved no trouble in the 9th.
Nate Robertson(0-6) was charged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings allowing
4 hits and 3 walks. 'It felt really nice to get this win,' Maroth said. 'I
kind of dictated the game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this
time.'
