The Moads sweep the Doubledays

Milwaukee swept visiting Auburn to end the Doubleday winning streak at 7 games. Auburn has started 2006 with a 13-17 record, a three game improvement over last years 10-20. The pitching staff has been very good, especially the starters who have a 3.96 ERA. This is over a full run improvement from 2005. Offensively it has been a struggle. With the influx of rookies and some slow starts by veterans the Doubledays are dead last in the SOMISL in batting average at .239.
Auburn has been good at home (10-5) and terrible on the road (3-12). This can be expected from such a young team, but it may also be due to the competition. The Doubledays have been swept on the road by powerful teams such as Louisville & Evansville, while beating up on some of the lesser teams at home. Bottom line is the road production must get better as the team grows.
