Andy Pettitte went 9 strong innings at The Swarm as the Louisville Outlaws
came back dramatically to top the Auburn Doubledays by the score of 3 to
2.

Louisville erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs
using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Ivan Rodriguez started the attack
as he delivered a base-hit. David Eckstein next to the plate and he
delivered a one-base hit. Larry Walker then was hit by a pitch. Mark
Teixeira followed and he delivered a single knocking in a run. Teixeira took
second on the throw. Alex Rodriguez stepped into the box and was walked
intentionally to load the bases. Adam Dunn did his part to keep things going
and drew a walk making Louisville the victors to the delight of the home town
faithful. Louisville totaled 12 on the night.

Pettitte(2-0), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Bob
Wickman(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.

Scott Tolle was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked
about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered,
'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, Michael Smith, feels
right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the
short end of one of these!'
